Teaching Class Night School Adult Classes

If you have a skill such as carpentry or can speak fluent Spanish or are proficient at a hobby such as art or knitting then you can earn from teaching night school skills to others. By taking night or weekend classes you could earn some extra money, meet new friends and share your knowledge. If you enjoy the subject then it won't seem like work and can be fun and enjoyable.

Local schools, community centres, village halls, community groups, etc will welcome speakers who can come to their group, or form a new group, and teach people an interesting new skill or develop new talents. Such people may be looking to learn on a range of topics from basic plumbing, car maintenance, self defence or a new language prior to a holiday abroad.

Teaching Classes

Consider your skills and if you feel confident enough to speak publicly about the subject then approach your local community centre for teaching classes work.

Most will pay you a percentage of the course fees. They will keep the remaining profits for administration, advertising, heating, lighting, cleaning and insurance costs. Some groups may give you a set fee or payment.

In most cases the group and individuals will provide materials such as paper, paint, wood, materials, etc. If not, and you find yourself having to pay for them, then you should include these expenses on your income tax self assessment form. Income earned from teaching night classes should also be declared.
